Marketing plan for the 'Tis the Season Reading Program.
Excerpt from the marketing plan:
"The ‘Tis the Season Reading Program focuses on Christmas and Winter Holiday inspired adult fiction books to encourage reading over the winter months. The mystery and romance genre are extremely popular genres for regular users of the library. The MontanaLibrary2Go catalog has many titles under the sub-genre of Christmas Romance and Christmas Mystery for readers. Though the Library has taken into account the ideas shared about holiday programs in the library, like the ones expressed in the “Ditch Holiday Programming” opinion piece, the library feels that this program helps build community and bring neighbors together more than divides or alienates them (Jones, 2014).
The ‘Tis the Season Reading Program begins in early November with a list of titles put together by the library staff. The program is marketed primarily to adults, though teens are also able to participate. The Library has patrons use a paper tracker for the books patrons read (see Supplementary Material).
Reading 5 of the books and turning in your tracker at the Library before December 20th enters the patron into a drawing for a $25 gift card to Robbins Too and Robbins on Main (a mercantile store). If the person who wins does not want to buy something holiday themed, they can buy many different things at the Robbins on Main."
